Art Craft Society

The Art Craft Society was formed to provide opportunities and experiences for artists, crafters, and hobbyist to enhance their skills and foster personal and professional growth. Every creative individual needs both solitary quiet  moments and the camaraderie of a  supportive community. In our creative art and crafts retreats, we strive to achieve the right balance of group collaborations to nuture and support our creative community together and still have time for reflection in solitude.

                      Craft Camp Information

         Enjoy structured art/craft classes, nature experiences, and still have free time for creative discovery in a tranquil peaceful environment. Classes are taught by supportive instructors for all skills levels and interests. In our art craft retreats we strive to build a community of creatively inspired women on their journey of growth and fulfillment.

 Check-In for Group 1 Tuesday May 28, 10:00 am 

Check-In for Group 2 Saturday June 1, 12:30am

*For Check-In : Drive to the lodge and get settled in, relax, meet your fellow crafters, enjoy refreshments, and receive a lovely "Welcome" tote bag filled with fun items. We'll have a brief introduction session where you'll get the schedule of activites, maps of the park, and have any questions answered before we begin the fun!

   Art supplies included in your fee. Classes may include (as time allows):

•Resin art (jewelry & art objects such as angel suncatchers)

•Make "Junk/Recycled Journals" from recycled books

•Assemblage Art Treasure Boxes 

•Acrylic painting on canvas and/or wood

Make Painted Kindness Rocks

​​•Sewing-Contemporary application of embroidery (great for beginners or for refresher)

•Charcoal / pastel art (outside by the lake)

***Make  "Kindness" rock project for the community.

          Additional Activities (Self-Guided):

•Hike the  trails beside the lake, down to the waterfall, in the woods and through the park.

•Take a leisurely drive or stroll across the stone bridge to the lake or down to the picnic area

•Go boating at the lake (canoes & pedal boats are for rent)

•Go fishing in the lake (shore or by boat)

•Visit the rope bridge by the waterfall and wade down the creek

•Go swimming or lounge around the large outdoor pool

​•Visit the tennis courts and the game room​

​​•Star gaze in the evening and listen to the night sounds of the mountains

•Visit the nearby town of Livingston or Cookeville for shopping and restaurants

        Meals are included and homemade by Southern cooks:

Continental Breakfast (with fresh baked muffins) or Breakfast Casseroles

Lunch & Dinner Examples:

•Chicken Cutlets with roasted farm fresh veggies

•Roast with creamy risotto and fresh veggies in season

•Bar B Q with poppy seed apple slaw and sweet & sour  beans

Grilled Kabobs (Chicken or beef with mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, & tomatoes)

•Pork chops with buttermilk mashed potatoes and corn bread salad

•Homemade desserts-fruit cobbler and banana pudding

•Various fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches for a light dinner

       The Lodge:

     The lodge is a large camp style building with a rustic atmosphere. It has a cozy stone wood burning fireplace with a conversion area, large kitchen, dining area, craft area, 4 bathroom/shower rooms, and 2 large bunk rooms. Bottom bunks are available (linens, blankets, pillows, and towels are included). Outside there is a picnic table and firepit overlooking the lake (perfect for roasting marshmallows to make S'mores).

       What To Bring:

•Art supplies are included in your fee for all the classes, but feel free to bring your own sketchbooks, camera, and other materials to use during your open/free time.

•Comfortable shoes or boots for hiking/walking (waterproof would serve you well)

•Bug spray, sunscreen, & hat

•Rain gear (rain poncho, umbrella, rubber shoes/boots)

•Comfortable, cool clothing for daytime and a light jacket/sweater for the chilly evenings

•Binoculars for birding watching

•Main meals & some healthy snacks are provided, but bring your favorites too

•Extra money for a lunch out in town, shopping, boat rental, & etc.

•Bed linens, towels, blankets, pillows, & hand soap are provided. Please bring your own shampoo, tooth paste, medicines & other personal items. You may want to bring a sleeping bag for your bunk.

At Art Craft Society, our team is made up of caring, supportive, and fun-loving individuals who are passionate about art and crafting. We are here to help you learn new skills or improve upon existing ones, and most importantly - to have a great time doing it.

Craft Camp Packages

     Craft Camp Packages are designed to be all inclusive to make your experience relaxing and carefree. Included is lodging (bed linens, towels, blankets, pillows, paper products for bathroom, & handsoap; food (fresh prepared meals and snacks); fun activities (making s'mores and story telling around the camp fire, shopping and lunch at the Old General Store, and all the park ammenties); supportive and fun teachers; and all art/craft supplies.
    No need to download a craft supply list with long shopping trips to find it all and then have to lug it all on a airplane or stuff it in a car trunk.
    Meals are prepared fresh by Southern cooks so you don't have to schedule catered prepackaged food. Dine together in the lodge or outside by the lake with a cookout.
   
  There are 2 all inclusive packages to chose from: 4 night and a 5 night package.
